Cocopeat, also known as coir pith or coir dust, is a byproduct of the coconut industry. It is made from the fibrous husks of coconuts that are ground and processed to extract the long fibers for use in products like ropes, mats, and brushes. The remaining short fibers and dust-like particles are then compressed into blocks or briquettes for use as a soilless growing medium. Cocopeat has excellent water retention properties and provides good aeration for plant roots, making it an ideal alternative to traditional soil in gardening and horticulture. It is also sustainable and environmentally friendly, as it is made from a renewable resource and is biodegradable.
The aerated structure of Coir Peat enables usage in farming. The product finds application in farming is due to its water absorbent property, and it is an excellent soil conditioner. We have Low EC, High EC and Buffered Blocks based on the customer's specification
The main purpose of using coco husk is to maintain the moisture content and the release of essential soil nutrients so that the plants have sufficient nutrients for healthy growth. It also has excellent drainage, nutrient holding capacity and fungi resistant.
Coco husk chips have proven to be excellent media for plants and hydroponics such as orchids, soil-less growing medium, mulch and ground cover.
Coir fiber comes from the fibrous husk of the inner shell of a coconut. Creating coir takes time since the husks must soak until the fibers separate, but this material has many uses. While you may be familiar with coir and its use in stiff fiber doormats, it is now being used in many other ways. We have both white and brown fibres.Â
